What features would sellers like to see?
-
We are looking for ways to improve the experience for sellers on Codester.
What are things you would like to see on Codester?
All ideas are welcome -
CMonica Oct 22, 2017You guys should add featured graphics on the first of website to since i see that for other categories there is
-
chattymango Oct 23, 2017Automatic WordPress plugin/theme updates from the backend would be awesome! Providing a class that developers just need to integrate into their package.
-
CMonica Nov 1, 2017it would be nice if we had on the edit page of an item the option to change the price
-
Squamifer Nov 7, 2017Possibility to change the price of the product.
-
chattymango Nov 8, 2017It would be useful to have a breakdown of item visitors/buyers by countries so that we can better understand how to target our promotion.

Scriptbucks Nov 9, 2017Frederick, you really should not have opened this topic. But because you did....
Here are a couple of features I can suggest:
- Ability to mark items on sale without it being 50% off, use percentage set by author
This may void the "flash sale" feature but you could totally revamp that to show items currently on sale, or new items on sale. You can also restrict how often the item goes on sale, maybe like once or twice a month?
- API
I mentioned this before via support thought I would mention it again, this marketplace needs to have an API.
- Notification system
I do not see any type of notification system. It would be nice to know when a buyer bought an item, or when someone followed us. Yes, we do get emails but that can be quite too many especially if you are an active seller with hundreds of sales; that could mean hundreds of emails per week. Would probably be best to implement the notification feature along with options to opt-out of certain emails
- Fix the word breaks
I noticed there are a lot of word breaks on the profiles. For instance, within the profile page itself if you look at the "About" section you can clearly see that the word break is a little odd. It acts like this:
This is an example of wh
at I am talking about. It j
ust breaks words, and i
t is very odd to lo
ok at.
- Add changelog column to item pages
Instead of us having to make our own changelogs within the item descriptions which can get really long especially for authors that are constantly updating, there could be a section for a changelog. Perhaps add it after FAQ section along with the count of version changes there is if possible. Example Changlog (6) and when a buyer clicks on it, it will display all changes made to the item. You can even add this only to items with code.
- Fix the 'related products' section on item pages
It seems to break out of its container, don't think it's intentional.
- Implement featured feature where users can pay to get their item featured first on all categories, and searches
A lot of marketplaces utilize this feature as it creates profit for the website and it helps sellers get sales.
This is all I can think of right now, but I will surely comeback to add more suggestions.

@Scriptbucks Thanks for all the great suggestions. No, I am not sorry that I have started this topic
There have already been a lot of great suggestions in this thread

chattymango Nov 12, 2017- Save the "Paypal username" on the Withdrawal page (and make it editable). Every time you enter it again, there is a risk of a typo, or that you enter the wrong account if you have several.
- Making the "Selling on Codester" forum accessible only to sellers (+ staff of course ).
-
Crevasse Nov 23, 2017Notifications! Would love to hear a "cha-ching" sound when someone buys my product (so rewarding).
-
ChewiScripts Nov 24, 2017Maybe have an even better commission price if you say you sell exclusively???????????
