Spike on Views Chart scaling down rest of chart
-
chattymango Jan 8, 2018Yesterday (and once some time before) a high spike of views occurred on the "30-day views chart". It doesn't look like genuine visitors. It's about 10-20 times the usual number.
The problem is that as long as this spike is in the 30-day area, all other data is scaled down to tiny dimensions. Also it makes the conversion rate go down - and this number is rather misleading.
Is there any way to remove this spike, or maybe your stats can even identify them somehow? I don't know the details, but maybe it's the same IP reloading the page in high speed. Some kind of firewall could help that throttles these requests (at least on the stats so that search engines can still crawl the site in higher speed). Thanks! -
We have seen unusual activity yesterday. Probably people using some kinds of scripts. We will try to fix this for the future.

We have just updated the system and added some filters. This should help against such spikes. Also it will give much more correct conversion rate.
