LittleJohn Mar 20, 2023I checked my items the other day and noticed all the prices have been raised by 5$. I don't know if it's a bug or did Codester raise their fee.
The bottom line is this raise lowered my sales drastically. It went from 10+ to 1 sale this month.
What do you think guys? -
Last week we have introduced the buyer fee. This has been introduced because currently a lot of costs have gone up and this is starting to impact other budgets and this is slowing down our marketplace.
We are currently watching how the market will react and how this will impact sales. We will take action if needed.

LittleJohn Mar 21, 2023Thanks Frederick for your quick reply.
I hope this won't impact the sales -
deluxescript Mar 23, 2023Hi,
Same thing I noticed, I reduced my scripts pricing by 5$ just due to this.
Sales are getting down day by day.

LittleJohn Mar 23, 2023I did the same. I droped the price by 5$ too still the sales have droped. I couldn't even reach the minmum payout.
If things keeps going this way then so many developpers will leave -
Would recommend not to directly drop your prices. There is a good chance your sales are impacted by other factors.
For example there has been a major Google algorithm update at the beginning of this month, which has shakes products are around.

NextMAS Apr 19, 2023You are taking buyer fees, so are you still taking 30% commission? Platforms like Codecanyon just charge $5 each sale. 30% is a lot.
-
That's incorrect Codecanyon charges 50% + $5 for each sale.
Or even 55% or more if you are not an "exclusive Envato seller".
Anyway, we are not a fan of raising our fees, but it is required to keep this platform healthy and able to growThis post has been last edited at 2023-04-21 09:01:24 -
Vladimir19 May 15, 2023Drop in sales? I have also noticed plenty of weird things, and that is the only reason I have delayed buying (or gave up in total) from Codester.
As an example, I have Microly in my Favorites, and there it is shown price of 10$ (I have screenshots for everything). Then when I click on the link to open that product page - New price is shown - 15$ + tax 20% = 18$ (on top of that add 2$ for card transaction so in total = 20$).
Now go figure this: I wanted extended license and boooom: I have switched to extended licence, and now it states 35$ + 20% tax = 54$ (fifty-four, yes). What math is that?
So, would you buy if you are me?
EDIT: My point is that I feel ripped off based on GeoIP or something. This post has been last edited at 2023-05-15 15:59:18 -
This is currently a bug on the items page. When calculating the VAT for an extended license an incorrect amount is being displayed. Our systems are being updated, this is the cause for the miscalculations of the VAT.If you actually continue to purchase the item, the correct amount will be charged. We hope to fix this as soon as possible.
As for VAT, if you have a valid EU VAT number you can enter this in your settings page and you will not be charged any VAT.
We notice it's difficult to understand the pricing and we will try to give more clarity when making a purchase. -
Vladimir19 May 16, 2023@Frederick - Thanks for clarification. As we have saying in Serbia "Sacuvati obraz" ("To have 'clear' hands and keep the respect) I would suggest something (even though I am not Product Manager for this ):
1. Since everybody are willing to lower the prices for 5$, use this to lower everything for that sum as Spring / Summer sale - Everything 5$ off for a month. On your side - gave up on 2$ charge for credit cards
2. Developers - Make everything that is possible as SaaS + regular version, and don't go wild with extended prices - keep it at affordable level (i.e. regular $15, extended $45). That way many (but not all) customers will go for extended even if they don't need them, and adding one more layer to make it SaaS is worth of 3 story points in Jira for Laravel / PHP. Also don't go above $99 unless you have created new Zendesk.
Enough from me - I expect special discounts just for me for QA and Management expertise DDD
Cheers,
