  hi .. please help me. why when I run APP using avd emulator connected to its Maps Android Studio runs fine, but when it's signed apk .. would use API browser or Android API MAPS is not going well, just a blank page.

  It's because your google_maps_api.xml are on debug mode, you need to change it to "MAIN mode", copy all content of google_maps_api.xml, remove the XML and create him again, but choose MAIN, don't choose debug... Or download the last code version

  follow the PDF instructions to setup the google maps key... If the maps are not showing, then the 'error' is the google maps key... You need to setup your key in the google_maps_api.xml and string.xml

  It sounds like you only have the API key entered in the debug google_maps_api.xml. Also, it sounds like you're using the same API key for debug and release, but you still need to enter it in the google_maps_api.xml under the release folder as well as the one in the debug folder.
  
  It's a little confusing, because when the project is in Android view, you can only see the debug file (although it should have (debug) in parenthesis next to it in that view).
  
  In order to modify the release version, switch to Project view by using the dropdown in the upper left of the Project Explorer. Then, expand app/src/, and you will see subfolders debug and release. Under there, you should see two separate google_maps_api.xml files under debug/res/values and release/res/values.
  
  Make sure that the API key is populated in the google_maps_api.xml file under the release/res/values folder, since this is the one that will be used for the signed release apk.

  whene i try to import project into android studio 2.1.2 i get this error :
  Error:Gradle version 2.2 is required. Current version is 2.10. If using the gradle wrapper, try editing the distributionUrl in D:\codester-1673-fake-gps-location-android-app-source-code\FakeGPSLocation (reskin)\gradle\wrapper\gradle-wrapper.properties to gradle-2.2-all.zip.
  
  Please fix the project's Gradle settings.

  Ummm... But error says that your current version is 2.10, and the required version is 2.2... You changed something, Android Studio are giving to you the option to change or fix the gradle error? Please, check it, and paste your build.gradle on pastebin (and send me)

  I followed your instructions but I can't run this template. I got these errors, but I already generated and added google-services.json to the /app folder in the project:
  
  GoogleService failed to initialize, status: 10, Missing an expected resource: 'R.string.google_app_id' for initializing Google services. Possible causes are missing google-services.json or com.google.gms.google-services gradle plugin.

  Hi Felipe, thank you for your response. I also think that this error is related to Google Play Services, but if I install the latest version your code returns some errors. Could you please provide the two build.gradle files (module and project) to include a compatible version of Google Play Services? Thank you!?
