  Every time I go to load the template in Buildbox (for which it was designed), I get the same error: "unable to load data". I've never gotten this with any other template or game file. Please advise...

  this is not a buildbox 3 game, it's a buildbox classic or buildbox 2 game.
  buildbox 2 (classic) and buildbox 3 isn't the same...
  we have just tested the game again with the newest version of buildbox classic (2.21.4) and the game works fine, without any problems.
  
  as we wrote in the requirements: it works with all buildbox 2 / classic versions, from version 2.1.1 till the newest (currently 2.21.4).
  
  if you have a buildbox 3 account, you can also download and use buildbox 2 for free.
