  1. Default currency is used only for Payment Gateways. To change the currency symbol you need change template files. To change this on index and category, edit this file:
  
  resources/views/themes/ACTIVETHEME/home.blade.php
  
  You may need change other files in this folder to update other pages too.
  
  2. No, there's no option to do this manually, sorry.
  
  3. It's necessary to create integration code to use PayPal.
