  Google CSE has been here since 2006. I can't promise that it will be here forever as it's a third party service. But it's been here for this long.

  That's because your file manager ignored the .htaccess file, it can happen because cPanel filemanager by default has the option "Show hidden (dotfiles)" disabled. So, always make sure the .htaccess file is present at the root of the files (where index.php file is present). If the .htaccess file is present and you're still getting this error, then delete the existing .htaccess file and upload the one from the script's Main Files.

  I can see that you have placed the files all wrong. If you follow the documentation, it says you need to upload "the contents inside the folder Main Files". You have uploaded the entire package. Please move the contents of the Main Files folder to public_html.

  This could happen because of numerous reasons, for example if the PHP version doesn't match, one or more of the required extensions are not enabled. To check what's causing the error, open the file: src/constants.php file and set the constant DEV_MODE to true, like this:
  
  define('DEV_MODE', true);
  
  Alternatively you can check the log files from here: src/var/logs/. And solve the issue according to the error message. If you still can't figure out the issue or resolve it, please do let me know.

  Hello.
  1. I don't promise anything about monetization, the script only offers functionalities how the end user implements it or integrates it is up to them.
  
  2. I'm planning on a new rewrite but it will take time. The script is currently at the best possible state of what can be done with the Google CSE API. But I do update when there is a bug.
  
  3. You can use your own CSE IDs and if those Programmable Engines have monetization enabled, ads will be shown.
  
  4. You can change the entire design if you're proficient in PHP, HTML and CSS.

  Due to the nature of my work and lifestyle, I don't do any customizations, even paid freelance work. If it's a script related issue, i.e. the problem is of the script. Or simply need a reference of what file to edit for what case. Etc. I can guide you to that and that's it.   Is your server Apache? Does it have mod_rewrite enabled? Make sure everything is available as per the script's requirements. You can contact your hosting provider regarding this issue.

  Just installed, nothing altered, and everything works except the following.
  1. Rich Information cards are not working. On your site a search for "joe biden" gives a card, on my site it does not
  2. Same for Instant Answers, doesn't seem to work - same on your demo site.
  3. Default setting don't stick, if you set it to safesearch to strict, it's still off for visitors.

  1. Could be a server side issue. These rely on querying several API endpoints. If the API has your server IP blacklisted, that can occur.
  
  2. Instant answer as in suggestions as you type? That's queries Google's endpoint on a browser level. Can you check if Google's suggestions are working for you?
  3. The setting is taken into consideration, however on the preferences page, the status is shown from the user's settings.

  Oh I got it about instant answers. Instant Answer isn't very advanced or anything like that, it's locally built commands for some utilities. The triggers are the following:

  The Rich Cards work by querying the DuckDuckGo API. It could be that it's blocking your server IP. Please download this test.php file, and upload where the index.php file is.
